Chapter 12
That night, Adrian held me tightly in bed.
He had become more and more clingy lately.
Unable to hold back any longer, I finally asked the question that had been buried in my heart.
“Didn’t you used to dislike how clingy I was?”
Adrian looked at me in confusion.
“When?”
“In the past. You always avoided my affection.”
He let out a long, heavy sigh.
“That was strategy. Playing hard to get. Don’t you understand?”
Then he added with complete seriousness, “If I let you have your way too easily, you wouldn’t treasure it.”
Apparently, this was the result of repeated experimentation on his part.
“If I let my wife kiss me whenever she wanted, then I’d only get kissed once.”
“But if I deliberately dodged, I could trick my wife into kissing me many more times.”
I stared at him, speechless.
Then I buried my face against his chest and laughed until I could hardly breathe.
Outside the room, the kitten named Trouble scratched at the door and meowed restlessly.
Inside the room, Adrian only pulled me tighter into his arms.
This time, I did not retreat.
I hugged him back just as tightly.
The floating comments had long since disappeared.
And maybe that was because I no longer needed them.
I already knew the answer for myself.
Adrian liked me.
Only me.
And as for me—
I would probably always be a little clingy.
But now, there was finally someone willing to indulge it for a lifetime.
The End
