Epilogue – One Year Later
The Johnson-Sullivan alliance is now the largest privately owned corporate partnership in South City.
The housekeepers are no longer on holiday because I tripled their salaries.
Michael learned to make decent scrambled eggs, though he still burns toast.
Emma was never charged, but she vanished from the public eye.
Matthew resurfaced in Monaco, managing a crypto scam that flopped.
And me?
I wake up beside the man who once thought I married him for money.
Now he knows better.
Because every time he tries to sneak out of bed early, I grab his wrist and whisper:
“You’re not going. Breakfast is with me.”
And he smiles.
Because he hears my thoughts now, too.
